A church is not a building - it is a group of people! A local church is a group of Christians who gather together to worship and serve God in their community. Becoming a member of a church is committing to pursue spiritual growth by fully participating in volunteering, giving financially when able, and attending congregational meetings. Members support each other, respect church leadership, and help promote unity within the body of Christ.

WHAT IS MEMBERSHIP?
The Bible talks about the global Church using three important metaphors that emphasize the significance of her relationship to Christ. The Church is called Christ’s bride (Mark 2:18-20), the children of God (Romans 8:14-17), and Christ’s body (1 Cor. 12:12-14, 27). For this reason, we want to make sure that those who are admitted into the membership of our church are truly Christ-followers.
WHY
MEMBERSHIP?
Membership carries certain privileges and responsibilities. It is the last step in the process of becoming a fully functioning part of the church. After conversion and baptism, membership is appropriate for anyone who considers White Rock Baptist Church their home and is old enough to carry out the responsibilities of a member.
HOW CAN I JOIN
MEMBERSHIP?
When you make a request for membership, you will be asked to fill out an application form and describe how you came to know Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Then one of the pastors will meet with you and answer any questions you may have about our church, our statement of faith, or our vision and purpose.

Upon the pastor’s recommendation, two board members will meet together with you for a brief interview. At the next board meeting, a vote will be taken to affirm your membership. Then during a Sunday morning worship service, you will be officially welcomed and given a certificate of membership. Could this be your next step?
